About Me

Originally from England, I have made Norway my home for many years. My work is shaped by a broad international background and a lifelong engagement with relationships, vulnerability, and healing.
I am a Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor certified to work with individuals, couples and families. I am affiliated to the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) in Canada and the USA. and am a member of the steering comittee at the Norwegian Centre for Emotionally Focused Therapy.

My education includes degrees in the Humanities and Special Education, a master’s degree, and professional qualifications from the University of Oslo. I have completed clinical training in Family Therapy at The Arctic University of Norway (Tromsø) and advanced studies in Systemic Family Therapy and Narrative Therapy in Oslo. I also hold professional training and authorisation in Integrative Psychotherapy through the Fritz Perls Institute in Germany.  Alongside psychotherapy, my work integrates elements from Music Therapy and Storytelling as Healing Arts, and I have published extensively in these fields.

My Approach
My work as a therapist—and my own lived experience—has taught me humility and deep respect for the challenges people face in their lives and relationships. I believe healing happens when people are met with openness, curiosity, and genuine care, and when relationships become safer and more responsive.
I have worked across all levels of the health and education systems as a teacher, educational psychologist, researcher, psychotherapist, family and couples therapist, and clinical supervisor. Throughout my career, nurturing and repairing relationships has been the guiding thread.
With support from the Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs, I translated and adapted the programme Hold Me, Let Me Go, which supports families through the challenges of adolescence and is now offered in many municipalities across Norway. Since 2023, I have also been developing Hold Me, Let Me Be Me, a programme supporting relationships between adult children and their parents.

Private Practice
I offer therapy to couples, families, and individuals through my private practice in Oslo, Nesodden, and online. I also provide supervision and training for professionals. My focus is on creating a safe, supportive space where challenges can be explored and more secure, meaningful relationships can grow.

Outside the Therapy Room
I live on Nesodden, a peninsula in the Oslo Fjord, with my wife, daughter, and her partner. Outside of work, I practise taiji, play music, dance tango, and enjoy walking and skiing in Norway’s beautiful natural surroundings.
